How to reset or restore a Nokia E50

If your Nokia E50 smartphone is running very slowly, hanging, you want to bypass the screen lock, or you have a full memory and want to erase everything, or you want to sell or give it away and want to ensure that nobody can access your files and passwords, you can do a factory reset to restore it to its original state like the first day.

There are three types of reset for a Nokia E50: the “soft” reset that restores the phone's settings to their factory state without deleting any files, phone numbers, ringtones or installed applications, the “strong” reset that deletes all the content of the phone, it is a total format of the device including the contacts, ringtones, photos, videos, applications, etc. and finally the “total” reset that should be used when the phone does not start or does not turn on and it would be your last resort to recover the Nokia E50.

“Soft” reset or “normal” reset

Estimated time: 5 minutes.

1- First step:

Unlock your Nokia E50 and from the home screen press or type the following code *#7780#

2- Second step:

Once the code is written, press the call button.

3- Third step:

A message will appear on the screen of your E50 asking if you want to restore the settings, press “Continue” f you want to continue.

4- Fourth step:

A message will appear asking you to write the security code of the Nokia E50 phone.

5- Fifth step:

After a few seconds the phone will reboot and ask you to enter the date and time settings.

If this method has not worked for you, go to Menu -> Tools -> Settings -> General -> Factory settings.

“Strong” reset or “deep” reset

1- Unlock your Nokia E50 and from the home screen press or type the following code *#7370#

2- Once the code is written, press the call button.

3- A message will appear on the screen of your E50 asking if you want to restore the settings, press “Continue” f you want to continue.

4- A message will appear asking you to write the security code of the Nokia E50 phone.

5- After a few seconds the phone will reboot and ask you to enter the date and time settings.

“Total” reset

1- Remove the battery from the Nokia E50 and put it back into position.

2- Press and hold these three keys at the same time: Green call button, asterisk * and power button.

3- Do not release these three keys until you see the welcome message on the screen of the E50 phone.

4- Wait for the Nokia to start and it will have restored.
