Last update: Android
Taking screenshots is one of the most practical and widely used functions on a smartphone, whether to save information, share something interesting, or report a problem. On Google Pixel devices, Android incorporates an innovative feature called "Quick Tap," which allows you to take screenshots simply by double-tapping the back of the device. This method stands out for its simplicity and speed, eliminating the need to combine buttons or navigate through menus.
Among its main advantages are the accessibility and convenience it offers, as it makes the task of taking screenshots easier even in situations where physical buttons are not easily accessible, whether due to wear or the position in which you hold the phone. Additionally, this feature is not limited to screenshots; you can customize it for other actions, such as opening specific apps or activating the Google Assistant, making it a versatile tool.
However, it also presents certain drawbacks. On one hand, its sensitivity can cause accidental activations, generating unwanted screenshots. On the other hand, not all Android devices are compatible with this functionality, as it is mainly limited to the latest Google Pixel models. Finally, although its impact on performance is minimal, the constant use of additional sensors could slightly affect battery life.
The screenshot feature by double-tapping the back of the device, known as "Quick Tap," was officially introduced in Android 12 and is native to the latest Google Pixel devices.
It is important to highlight that although this feature was introduced in Android 12, its availability may vary depending on the device manufacturer and the specific model. Some manufacturers may have implemented similar features in earlier versions of Android through their own customization layers.

Step 1:
First, we open the settings on our device, which is the gear icon you will find on the home screen or by swiping up from the bottom of the screen.
Step 2:
We scroll down through the settings of our Android phone or tablet until we find the "System" section, tap to access.
Step 3:
Within “System” among the first options we must find the “Gestures” section; if we do not see it here we can use the search engine in the previous settings section. If you cannot find it, it is because your device does not have this function, you can try updating the operating system to find out if it has been added in an update.
Step 4:
Once inside "Gestures" you will see several options that you can perform with gestures on our Android phone or tablet, tap on the option "Quick tap to start actions".
If you don't see this option, it means your device doesn't have this feature or it hasn't been incorporated yet through an update.
Step 5:
Press the "Use Quick Tap" switch to activate this feature; if you already have it activated, you can move on to the next point to check how to set up the screenshot with two taps on the back.
Step 6:
Several actions will appear that you can perform by double-tapping the back of the phone or tablet. Select "Take screenshot."
Step 7:
Many users comment that their phone takes screenshots automatically, for example, when placing it on a table, as the system interprets that movement as two taps. If this happens to you, activate the "Require stronger taps" option. This way, the taps on the back need to be stronger for the screenshot to be taken.
There are no questions yet about "Take a screenshot with two taps on Android"; you can write the first one.
