Recording the screen on the Nintendo Switch is very useful if you want to save those epic or fun moments while playing. Whether it's a masterful play, a funny fail, or something unexpected, with just the press of a button you can capture the last 30 seconds of what you were doing in the game, and you won't need to download any application or connect any cables since it is done through a built-in feature in all Nintendo Switch models, including the normal, Lite, and OLED versions.
However, you need to be attentive because the recording only saves what happened before pressing the "save video" button, so if you're not careful, you might miss that unique moment. Despite this, it's a great feature to relive your best moments or share them with your friends and on social networks. Here we tell you how to make the most of it and what to keep in mind so you don't miss anything important.
Estimated time: 2 minutes.
Step 1:
Hold down the share button on the left Joy-Con controller or Pro controller of your Nintendo Switch for a few seconds. This is the button you can see in the image.
Step 2:
By pressing the button for several seconds, you will see a notification appear in the upper left corner of the screen indicating that the video is being saved, followed by another notification indicating that the screen recording has been successfully completed.
Step 3:
If you want to see the screen recordings you have made, press the "Home" button on the right Joy-Con controller, which is the button with a house icon. The Pro controller also has this house icon.
Step 4:
In the home menu of your Nintendo Switch, you will see several icons at the bottom of the screen. Use the joystick or directional pad to move to the "Album" icon and press the "A" button. You can also tap the icon directly on the touchscreen.
Step 5:
When you access the Switch album, you will see all the screen recordings made.
Tap on the image you want to view, edit, or share.
Step 6:
To send the screen recording to your mobile phone or post it on social media, press the "A" button on the right controller.
Step 7:
To send the video to your mobile phone or tablet, press "Send to a smart device." You can use either the directional pad or the touch screen to select this option.
Step 8:
A pop-up window will appear asking if you want to send a single video or multiple files. Choose the option you prefer.
Step 9:
Before sending videos to your smart device, you must check that both the Nintendo Switch and your smart device are connected to the same WiFi network. Disconnect the data connection on your phone to avoid problems. A QR code will appear that you must scan with your phone or tablet, and you will be able to download the screen recordings.
