How to update Meta Quest

With each advancement in the universe of virtual reality headsets, our devices become more sophisticated and offer new and exciting features. Meta Quests are no exception. However, to fully enjoy these new features, it is essential to keep our device updated.
Updating a device, like the Meta Quest, not only improves its performance and fixes small problems and security flaws that may arise, but it also gives you access to new features and tools that Meta has designed to make your experience even more pleasant and efficient. However, we understand that the update process may raise questions if you are not familiar with it.
We know that not everyone is a technology expert, and that is precisely why we have created this tutorial. We have designed each step in a simple and clear way, accompanied by screenshots, so you can follow the process without complications.
It doesn't matter if this is your first time trying to update a device or if you are simply looking for a visual guide to walk you through the process; We are here to help you. So, grab your Meta Quest, and get ready to give your virtual reality or augmented reality headsets the latest and greatest software Meta has to offer.
Important: charge your Meta Quest up to at least 50% and if possible keep them connected to the power via a charging cable to avoid problems and delays in the update.
Updating your Meta Quest software will not reset it or delete any information or settings so you can continue using it normally when finished.

Step 1:
Locate the "Oculus" button on your right-hand controller, it is the flat button at the bottom right of the controller with the Oculus symbol. Press it to open the main menu.
Step 2:
There are two ways to access the Meta Quest settings, the quickest is through the gear icon with a green background and the other is through the "Quick Settings". The quick settings can be accessed by clicking on the button that shows the WiFi connection and battery percentage as can be seen in the following image.
Select with the controller and press the trigger of the index finger of the same controller.
Step 3:
If you have clicked on the "Quick Settings" button, a screen will appear with the main settings of the Quest, including WiFi, Guardian System, microphone, etc. At the top right, the "Settings" button will appear with the icon of a white gear wheel, press to access the settings.
Step 4:
Once inside the Meta Quest settings, you will see a grid in which the different settings are categorized. The first option is "System", use either remote control to select this option and access the system settings.
Step 5:
When accessing the Meta Quest 3 system settings, we will see a list of options on the right of the screen. We go down through the menu on the left until we find the "Software update" section.
Step 6:
When accessing the "Software Update" section, if there is an update available to download and install on the Meta Quest, an "Update Now" button will appear in the upper right part of the window.
Press to begin downloading and installing the update.
Step 7:
A confirmation message will appear to begin downloading and installing the update on the Meta Quest, it is important to keep the Meta Quest turned on and with sufficient battery charge to avoid problems.
If possible, connect your Quest to the charger while the download takes place, which may take several minutes, this will depend on the connection speed via Wi-Fi and the size of the update.
After the software update is installed, the Meta Quest will reboot to complete the installation.
This process may take a few minutes, do not touch the controllers or press any buttons while they restart and remember to keep the virtual reality glasses with enough battery charge to avoid an error during the process.
