Developer mode (or "Developer Options") on Xiaomi devices running the Android operating system is a set of options and tools intended primarily for developers or advanced users. These options allow you to configure the system and applications in ways that are not normally available to a normal user.
The developer options are hidden by default because they are not intended for the average user. Modifying some of these options without proper knowledge can cause unexpected device behavior, performance issues, or even cause some applications to stop working correctly. For this reason, a specific process is required to activate them and it is recommended to use them with caution.
Most Xiaomi devices include a customization layer called MIUI that modifies the settings and menus of the device and makes them different from those of a device with "pure" or "stock" Android, so the options for developers are found in a different section.
Developer mode is created so that application, theme or widget developers can test and debug their creations on real devices, however for normal users, activating the developer options is useful to solve problems on the device by connecting it to a PC, to install a custom rom or install applications that cannot be found on Google Play.
Estimated time: 5 minutes.
Step 1:
To begin, we must open the settings of the Xiaomi phone or tablet. This is the icon of a cogwheel or gear that you can find on the home screen.
If you can't find it on the home screen, slide your finger from the right to the left to move to the different desktops and when you find the icon, press to open it.
Step 2:
The first section we will see is “About phone”, it should appear at the beginning of the settings, press to access.
Step 3:
Within the “About phone” section we must look for the “MIUI version” or “Version” section.
Step 4:
We must press the “MIUI Version” Number 7 times in a row, as we press a message at the bottom of the screen it will show the touches we need to activate developer mode.
Step 5:
By pressing each time, the message will appear indicating that the developer options are activated on your Xiaomi mobile or tablet.
Step 6:
Now you can see the developer options, go back to the settings and click on "Additional settings".
Step 7:
Scroll down through the additional settings to the bottom where you will see the “Developer Options” section, click on this section to see all the developer options and check that it is active.
Step 8:
Once inside you will see that the developer options are activated and all the options that we can activate or deactivate will appear.
You can disable developer options again to avoid security problems or system failures; after deactivating them, you may need to restart the device.
There are no questions yet about "How to activate developer mode on Xiaomi"; you can write the first one.
